Dr.
Vellequette, a Los Altos native, attended St. Francis High School
in Mountain View. He graduated from UC Davis with a Bachelor of Science
degree in Nutritional Science and went on to get his Doctorate in
Dental Surgery degree at the University of Buffalo, NY Dental School
with a minor in Periodontics. He is a fellow of the Academy of General
Dentistry (FAGD), and received his Mastership award (MAGD) summer
2001.
In
addition to clinical instructing in cosmetic dentistry, he attends
approximately 200 hours of continuing education per year. Dr. Vellequette's
continuing education has included TMD/TMJ clinic, Dental Implants,
IV Sedation Certification, Cosmetic and Aesthetic dentistry programs
and numerous other general and cosmetic dental courses to complete
the requirements for his Master's Award in the Academy of General
Dentistry. He is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry
(AACD), the International Congress of Oral Implantology (ICOI),
the Cranio Mandibular Institute (CMI), the Academy of GP Orthodontics,
and has participated in the CDA and ADA on legislative committees
and as an alternate delegate.
Dr.
Vellequette has recently received The
Academy of General Dentistry's prestigious Mastership Award
on August 4, 2001 in New York. In attaining Mastership in the AGD,
Dr. Vellequette has joined a select group of dentists who have completed
the most rigorous continuing dental education program in general
dentistry. Dr. Vellequette earned the Mastership Award by completing
more than 1,100 hours of quality continuing dental education in
the 16 disciplines of dentistry, including 400 hours of hands-on
courses. To date, only 1,000 AGD members have earned Mastership
honors.
One
of Dr. Vellequette's principle professional goals is to set the
standard for excellence in the practice and delivery of dental care.
This requires being involved with teaching other dentists the art
and science of advanced aesthetic dentistry throughout the United
States.
